Contemporary Figurative Stained Glass Art inspired by atmosphere, movement, and emotion.

Lady in Black is a handcrafted stained glass piece inspired by the quiet beauty of rain-soaked evenings and the elegance found in solitary moments. The striking silhouette of a woman beneath a deep crimson umbrella creates a sense of mystery and movement, while the flowing lines of the design guide the eye gently across the piece.

The clear textured glass surrounding the figure was carefully chosen to imitate falling rain, allowing light to shimmer through the indented surface like droplets on a windowpane. As natural light changes throughout the day, the glass comes alive with reflections and movement, giving the artwork an ever-changing atmosphere.

Each section of glass was individually cut, foiled, and soldered by hand using traditional stained glass techniques. The rich ruby tones of the umbrella contrast beautifully against the dark flowing dress, creating depth and drama while maintaining a soft, elegant balance.

This piece reflects my love of storytelling through glass — capturing not just an image, but a feeling. Lady in Black speaks of grace, quiet strength, and the peaceful solitude found in walking through the rain beneath a glowing umbrella.

Every handmade detail celebrates the beauty of artisan craftsmanship and the unique way stained glass transforms ordinary light into emotion and atmosphere.
